Cairo
The
capital of Egypt and home to over 16 million people, Cairo has been known
for centuries as one of the largest cities in Africa. Modern Cairo encompasses
ruins and monuments from many eras of Egypt's history, from the Pyramids and
Sphinx, to the early Christian churches and the Citadel of Saladin. In addition
to being home to the golden masks and treasures of Tutankhamen.

Alexandria
The second largest city in Egypt was founded by Alexander the Great in 331
BC and became the capital of Greco-Roman Egypt, its status symbolized by the
shining beacon of the Pharos Lighthouse, one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
Since then Alexandria has declined and risen once again to become a metropolitan
focus for maritime and commercial expansion taking on the cultural heritage
of many immigrants from Greece, Italy and the Levant.

Luxor
A
city that can only be described as the world's greatest open-air museum, filled
with awe-inspiring monuments of ancient civilization. Living, Luxor and Karnak
Temples greet the sunrise, while the as the sun sets over the West Bank shadows
fall through the City of the Dead, the Tombs of the Nobles, the Valley of
the Kings and Queen Hatshepsut's temple.

Aswan
Here the Nile is at its most beautiful, Egypt's sunniest southern city and
ancient frontier town is small enough to walk around and has a distinctively
African atmosphere. This ancient city is famous for being home to the temple
of Isis on Philae Island and the Old Cataract hotel which is featured in Agatha
Christie's "Death on the Nile."

Sinai
- Sharm El Sheik
The gateway between Asia and Africa, the Sinai Peninsula has been famous throughout
time for being a strategic location and a relgious haven. Today it is known
throughout the world as home to some of the best dive locations and resorts.
While there are many places to visit, the most famous and by far the largest
is Sharm El Shiek. From there you are only a half hour drive to Ras Mohamed
(one of the top ten dive locations in the world), three hours from a visit
to the spectacular Mt. Sinai (where Moses saw the burning bush) and St. Catherine's
Monastry, not to mention having access to hundreds of aquatic and land-based
fun activities, such as a bedouin night, quad safaris, banana boat and glass-bottomed
boat rides.

The
Red Sea Coast - Hurghada
Names for the mineral-rich red mountain ranges, it has inspired mariners of
old to name the sea Mare Rostrum, or the Red Sea. One of the main cities there,
Hurghada, was founded in the early 20th century and has become a focus of
divers, and tourists from around the world. Whether you chose to simply lie
on the beach, take a boat out to the underwater marine gardens, take a camel
or jeep safari into the desert, or go on a visit to the monasteries and sites
you are sure to have a wonderful time.

The

Oasis was originally an Egyptian word (from the Coptic "ouahe")
and Egypt's oases are still the most varied in the world, each with a special
character of its own. Wherever you stay, enjoy the tranquility of the Bedouin
lifestyle, the date groves, pingeon towers and blue-washed mud houses. For
adventure and the majesty of the desert take a jeep safari, spend a few nights
under the stars and wake up to take a dip in the hot springs.
